A TYPICAL VISIT
It is understandable that many patients may feel uneasy about visiting a "Marijuana Doctor" for help. Hopefully by reading about the process it can dispel some of the common fears. If you are prepared the visit should go very smoothly.

First it is best to decide a location where you will like to be evaluated. This can be done easy on our Locations page . Things to prepare before you call for an appointment: A list of days that you are available, contact information and a pen and paper to right down information our staff may give you.

The most important part of your pre visit task should be gathering information, records etc about your condition. See how to get your records . This is extremely important. Although some patients have conditions where very few records are needed. The more information you bring the more fruitful a visit you will have. Sometimes patients may need to bring additional information, and this will be discussed at the time of the visit.

A very good idea that usually focuses patients on what they need is pre filling out the patient intake form for you visit. By filling out your paperwork beforehand you can streamline your visit and also spend more time thinking about condition specifically.

On the day of your visit you should bring the consultation fee, your California ID. After a brief review of your paperwork you will be seen by the physician. This will take place in a confidential setting. No one will be listening.... to your session.  You are free to be open and honest with the doctor without fear that any information will be disseminated to anyone. We keep our charts private in accordance withCalifornia and Federal Law. 
A typical consultation takes 25-45 minutes. During the consultation a directed history and exam will take place depending on your condition.

If your condition qualifies and you receive a recommendation the physician will discuss the risks and benefits of Cannabis. In most cases the physician will discuss other alternatives therapies to your condition. Typically, patients remark that our physician spends more time and is more informative than there regular Primary doctor.

After your visit with the physician you will fill out a brief post consult consent form. That allows us to verify you with cannabis caregivers, if you so choose.

Afterwards you will visit with our clinic manager who will explain our verification process. Within your folder packet you will find useful resources to patient websites. You may followup with the physician with any concerns or issues regarding your recommendation for one year free of charge.
